FAQs
-
How much of a time commitment is this?
It's just one day (April 18th) from 9am to 4pm, and it’s a University reading day so you won’t have classes. The schedule is designed to be high-value and respectful of your time.
-
Who are the speakers?
We have a fantastic speaker list of people from Austin, Dallas, & Houston, many of whom have never spoken at Texas A&M before. You'll get the chance to hear from successful founders, CEOs, investors, and industry professionals who can speak to all stages of the process.
-
Do I have to know a lot about entrepreneurship?
Nope! The day is designed for people at all stages- we have a whole breakout session about "Finding your Why" if you aren't quite sure what direction to go in.
-
What if I don't know anyone?
We can introduce you to other attendees before the day of the event! Just let us know- we can find people with your similar interests/goals.
-
Is this only for students who already have a business idea?
Not at all! Whether you're just curious about entrepreneurship, actively working on a startup, or simply want to learn more about innovation and business-building, there's something for you at the Startup Summit.
-
What will I actually get out of attending?
Real-world insights from people who've built successful companies, practical knowledge about starting and growing ventures, connections with mentors and fellow entrepreneurial-minded students, and inspiration to take your next steps - whatever those might be.
-
Is this going to be super formal?
Not at all! The Summit was created by students for students, so come as you are!
-
Will there be food?
Yes! We'll provide breakfast snacks and lunch, giving you a chance to refuel while connecting with speakers and other attendees.
-
Is this going to be cool?
Absolutely, but we're biased. Guess you'll just have to come hear from the 15+ speakers & mentors and 150+ other attendees and see for yourself!
